Treatment Journey and Steps

Necessary Tests and Examinations: Pre-IVF Screening

To achieve the highest possible pregnancy rates, we believe in ‘measuring twice and cutting once.’
Our detailed pre-treatment testing phase is designed to uncover hidden factors and build the most effective strategy for your care.
Drawing on over 23 years of expertise, the team at MG IVF Center provides the professional oversight and advanced diagnostics necessary to turn your hope into a reality.

Initial Consultation and Evaluation

The treatment process begins with a comprehensive consultation with our doctors. During this session:

  • Your medical history, fertility status, and potential risks are assessed.
  • Necessary tests and examinations are planned.
  • A personalized treatment plan is created, and detailed information is provided.

Ovarian Stimulation (Ovulation Induction)

At this stage, hormone injections are used to stimulate the ovaries to produce more eggs. Throughout the process, regular ultrasounds and blood tests are conducted to monitor ovarian response.

  • Ovarian development is closely monitored.
  • The maturity level of the eggs is evaluated.
  • The timing for egg retrieval is carefully planned.

Egg Retrieval (Oocyte Pick-Up)

Once your follicles have reached the optimal size and maturity, we perform the egg retrieval. This is a precise, minimally invasive procedure designed to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

  • A Gentle, Quick Procedure: The retrieval typically takes only 15–20 minutes. To ensure you feel no discomfort, the procedure is performed under mild sedation (twilight anesthesia), allowing you to remain relaxed throughout.
  • Precision Guided by Ultrasound: Using advanced high-resolution ultrasound guidance, our specialists carefully collect the mature eggs from the ovaries with a fine needle. This non-surgical approach ensures maximum safety and accuracy.
  • Immediate Laboratory Care: The moment the eggs are retrieved, they are handed directly to our expert embryologists. They are immediately identified, assessed, and placed in a highly controlled laboratory environment to maintain their viability and health.
  • Post-Procedure Recovery: After the retrieval, you will rest in our comfortable recovery suite for a short period. Most patients can return home within an hour or two. While we recommend a day of relaxation, most women feel back to their normal selves by the following day.

Sperm Collection and Preparation

On the same day, a sperm sample is collected from the male partner and prepared in the laboratory.

  • The sperm sample is processed to enhance motility and quality.
  • If donor sperm is used, the pre-arranged sample is prepared for fertilization.

Fertilization

The collected eggs and processed sperm are combined in a laboratory setting.

  • Conventional IVF: Eggs and sperm are placed together for natural fertilization.
  • ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection): A single sperm is directly injected into the egg.
  • The fertilized eggs begin developing into embryos, which are carefully monitored.

Embryo Transfer

The healthiest embryos are selected and transferred into the uterus. This procedure is generally painless and completed within a few minutes.

  • The number of embryos transferred is determined by the doctor.
  • Any remaining high-quality embryos can be frozen for future use.
  • A pregnancy test is conducted 10-14 days after the transfer.

Pregnancy Test and Results

Approximately two weeks after embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is performed.

  • A blood test confirms whether pregnancy has occurred.
  • If positive, the pregnancy will be closely monitored by our medical team.
  • If negative, our specialists will assist you in planning the next steps.

Post-Treatment Support and Follow-Up

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A full IVF cycle—from the start of ovarian stimulation to the embryo transfer—usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks. However, the preparation phase (diagnostic testing and consultations) can add a few weeks to the beginning to ensure your body is perfectly ready.

Most patients feel no pain during the 15–20 minute procedure and experience only minor, period-like cramping for a day or two afterward.

If your cycle produces more high-quality embryos than are needed for the immediate transfer, we offer Advanced Cryopreservation (Freezing). These embryos can be stored safely for many years, allowing you to attempt another pregnancy in the future without undergoing the full stimulation and retrieval process again.

At MG IVF Center, we achieve success rates of up to 90%.
